Meet Our Nurses, Groomers and Administrators

Doreen Covelli - Practice Manager

Practice Manager Doreen CovelliDoreen is our office manager and part time receptionist. As you may have guessed from her name she is married to Dr Joe Covelli one of our vets. Doreen holds a PhD in pharmacology from the faculty of science at the University of Melbourne.

After graduating in 2000, Doreen decided not to continue her career in scientific research but started a family with Dr Joe. They now have two young children Christopher and Erin.

Doreen ensures that our clinic finances and office protocols run smoothly. Her interests include tapestry, gardening, going to the movies and spending time with friends, family and her cats.


Lyn Craig

Nurse Lyn CraigLyn has been vet nursing since 1986 and started here in 1994 when the clinic first opened as our very first nurse. She is highly motivated and loves working in such a family orientated environment as our clinic team.

Lyn has completed a business degree while working here and she has the very important job of ordering all the drug stocks for the clinic.

Lyn also enjoys dog showing and her Pointers do exceptionally well in the show ring (that's if she can find the competition in the first place as Lyn has no sense of direction and relies on her in car navigator!!) including the Royal Melbourne Show. She also has a very spoilt whippet Shae. Lyn is the proud mum of two adult girls and grandmother to one year old Cohen.


Sharne Karp

Nurse Sharne KarpSharne has been at the clinic for 10 years firstly as a full time nurse then in a part time capacity while she studied her Bachelor of Science (Animal Science). Sharne has been running our puppy classes all this time and has enjoyed it immensely. She has graduated 100's of puppies!

Sharne dotes on her son Leon and enjoys travelling with her partner Brian. Clients and staff love Sharne, as she is always quick with a joke or stories, which are famous for being hysterically funny.


Katie Shearing

Katie ShearingKatie started nursing in 2006 and has been at our clinic since January 2011. She has completed a science degree and is just about finished her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing before returning to university next year where she will begin her life long dream of becoming a veterinarian. In her spare time she loves dancing, especially ballet which she has done for many years; as well as spending time with all of her beloved pets (there’s quite a few!) and always finding new things to learn.


Rebecca O'Brien

Nurse Rebecca O'BrienRebecca  is one of our long term nurses having completed her veterinary nursing certificate in 2006. She has been heavily involved in assisting with puppy classes.

After a short period woking as a flight attendant Rebecca returned to veterinary nursing realising that her love for animals was too strong. Many of our staff attended her wedding to Simon on Hamilton Island in 2004 They are now proud parents of two beautiful children Joel and Ava. Rebecca has recently returned to part-time work from maternity leave.


Andrea Morley

Nurse Andrea Morley Andrea started nursing in February 1977 at the age of …, let's just say as a very young child! After establishing a reputation as a very knowledgeable veterinary nurse, she found work locally here at Hoppers.

Andrea is proficient in all areas of nursing and cannot choose which area she likes most. In all her years of nursing she has never contemplated changing careers and loves the challenge and social aspect of her veterinary career.

Recently she has begun accompanying the vets when doing PETPEP visits to schools and kindergartens with her Staffordshire terrier “Jed”.

Andrea also shows her miniature pinscher "Jye".


Kylie Robinson

Nurse Kylie Robinson Kylie started as our trainee nurse in 2004, after deciding the time was right to fulfil her dream of working with animals. She is known already by a lot of our clientele as she has worked and lived in Werribee for all of her life.

Kylie is an avid animal lover whose furkids include Tyson the Border Collie, Sam the Malt X Shihtzu, Bentley the Yorkie and the cats Cruz and Hope (who suffers from epilepsy). She is a country girl at heart having competed in mountain racing throughout country Victoria with her beloved horses.

She completed her certificate in animal nursing in 2006, and recieved high distinctions for her schoolwork. She has also become a registered microchip implanter. Kylie looks after our promotinoal displays and ordering your pets food.


Karen Meyn

Nurse Karen MeynKaren started grooming here in June 1996. She started nursing at the clinic in 2007. She is currently completing Veterinary Nurse Certificate 1V at Box Hill Tafe and hope this will enhance her nursing career. She loves learning how to help animals and broaden her knowledge of Veterinary medicine.

Karen still enjoys dog grooming and sometimes helps out in times of need. She loves interacting with our clients and has made many friends among them.

She is engaged to Ken and hopes to get married when time permits. She also has a daughter Zoe who is 17 years old, in Year 12 at MacKillop College and also works at the clinic on a casual basis, helping the groomer.

Karen has a special interest in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and enjoys showing them. She also occasionally breeds litters. Her family of Cavaliers includes Cooper, Darcy, Lexi, Lara, Macey and Chelsea. She also has a Burman cat who is 4 years old .


Roberta Goli

Roberta is a part time nurse at our clinic.


Casey Armstrong

Casey has been nursing at the clinic since 2011, she started out being a trainee nursing student whilst completing her certificate IV in veterinary nursing at Victoria University. Now she works at the clinic while studying for her diploma in animal technology. Casey lives at home with her two dogs, Cleo and Bomber, and a ginger cat named Chevy. Casey can be found in the clinic hugging puppies, talking about the cricket and eating all the lollies on the font desk.


Pey Hor

Pey has recently started nursing with us. She is currently studying her Veterinary Science degree at Melbourne University, and is in her second last year. She enjoys being social with her friends, and lives in the student college on the Veterinary Science campus. She is also a swimming instructor and likes to ski. She likes to travel and recently returned from Thailand and Laos! Favourite dog breeds include the Shiba Inu, Border Collie, Labrador and the Beagle.

Public Relations Manager

Frazer

Frazer"Frazer" is our clinic cat. He came to us after being found as a stray at a nearby school. After nobody claimed him, he adopted us as his new family.

"Frazer" gives us hours of enjoyment and keeps our clients entertained. In fact his name tag reads "Frazer, public relations manager".


Meet Our Groomers

Lisa and Jasmine

Jasmine (right) and Lisa (left) have recently joined out team as our dog groomers.  Both have been grooming for 7 years and live locally. Lisa has previously worked in pet retail and has 2 children, 2 Rottweilers and a Mastiff.  Jasmine has a certified master groomer qualification. She has a Golden Retriever and a 1 year-old child. Lisa and Jasmine both do great pet makeovers and so please allow them to 'work their magic' on your pets!
